Funded by the Department of Social Services and NSW Fair Trading, the Financial Counselling service is primarily accessible by families and individuals experiencing financial hardship and can support those effected by problem gambling. Financial Counsellors offer support with advocacy, negotiations, options, information and referrals and personal budgeting. Individuals are supported in making informed decisions to resolve their financial issues by accessing information specific to their circumstances. This program aims to empower individuals to gain an understanding and take control of their financial position. CentaCare’s Financial Counsellors deliver community education to improve financial literacy within our communities and to raise awareness around problem gambling issues. The service aspires to increase consumer knowledge and confidence in the management of personal finances and develop financial skills with in communities for the ongoing future management of financial affairs. The Families NSW program targets families with children aged 0-8 years by providing a wide range of activities including parent education programs, supported playgroups, peer support groups, individual support and community projects.

The overall goal of the Specialist Homelessness Service (SHS) are to ensure better outcomes for vulnerable people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. Funded by the Department of Social Services, physician the Family Mental Health Support Service provides support for vulnerable families with children and young people who are showing early signs of, capsule or are at risk of developing mental health. Services provided include a range of flexible, nurse responsive, non-clinical mental health support services to meet the needs of children and young people affect by, or at risk of mental illness and their families and carers. The Family Mental Health Support Service offers three levels of support: Intensive, long term, early intervention support for children, young people and their families which may include: assessment and identification of needs; practical assistance and home based support; linking with other relevant services; and targeted therapeutic groups.
